Creative expression is a form of communication. Through art, music, poetry, storytelling, and the myriad forms of expression we can communicate our thoughts, ideas, and feelings. By combining colors, images, textures, sounds, and words we weave a tapestry of our internal experience to the external world around us.
Heart Speak Journeys inspires an infusion of AAC learning, playful creative expression, and building relationship one communication community at a time.

Songs are stories,
and Raffi’s original Baby Beluga tells the story of a little white whale who lives in the deep blue sea. This Official Animated Baby Beluga Youtube video weaves Raffi’s song with the artwork of kids. Happy Heart
A collective work by an intergenerational community of a young child named Corbett. The art was created by Corbett and his friends and family each taking a turn using a switch-adapted spin art toy while they used AAC to talk with one another throughout art making. The collage was arranged using the finished spin art, picture communication symbol words, and the name tags of participants. Corbett directed the shape of the collage and expressed “happy” given the prompt. Therefore, this Creative Collaboration is called “Happy Heart.”

Prompt: what is one word to describe what Camp Corbett is all about or how you feel being here.

Harness the Haiku
A haiku is a type of poem. It has five syllables on the first line, 7 syllables on the second line, and 5 syllables on the third. A group of participants at Camp Corbett harnessed the haiku using AAC to create this masterpiece:

Remixed Lyrics
